All Blacks 7s coach Sir Gordon Tietjens is expected to name his final 12 member team this afternoon for the New Zealand 7s this weekend.
Two players will be dropped from the 14 member squad but 18 year old Akira Ioane told TVNZ he is ready to prove himself on the IRB World 7s Series if given a chance.
Coach Gordon Tietjens said Ioane is a wonderful player and can become one of the best international players.
Tietjens added he is counting on his experience players to step up this weekend.
Meanwhile, if all goes well for Fiji in pool play, they are expected to meet either Scotland, Argentina, Canada or USA in the quarter finals.
If Fiji progresses to the semis they are expected to play South Africa, England, Samoa, Australia or Kenya.
Fiji will take on New Zealand in their first pool match at 2.06pm; their second pool match is against France at 5.35pm and will later face Spain at 7.28pm in their last pool match this Friday.
The Cup quarter finals kicks off at 1.33pm Saturday, the Cup semifinals are scheduled for 5.35pm while the cup final kicks off at 8.30pm.
