Good news for miners and the people of Vatukoula as the owners of the Vatukoula Gold Mines have submitted names of those who will benefit from the $1.5 million rehabilitation fund.
The rehabilitation fund is part of the deed of settlement signed between government and the new Vatukoula gold mine owners - Australian owned Westech Gold Pty Limited, which totals $6 million over the next four years.
Minister for Lands and Mineral Resources Netani confirmed the list was handed to him this week when he paid a visit to the mines to inspect the progress being made.
