Good news for cane farmers who are facing difficulty in sending their children to school this year.
The Sugar Cane Growers Council has confirmed this morning that a special cane payment of $4/per tonne will be paid out to farmers later this month.
SCGC Chairman, Jain Kumar confirmed to Village News this morning that they made submissions for the special cane payments and it has been approved.
