Good news for the people of Nadi as plans are underway to construct a new Nadi Fire Station.
In a statement, the Minister for Local Government, Urban Development Jone Navakamocea said that work is currently in progress, to spot the right location to build a new fire station in Nadi.
Navakamocea said there are certainly a few locations in Nadi but they will have to look at it in terms of logistics and the movement of traffic, especially areas restricted by the vehicle congestion.
Meanwhile the Nadi fire station is located behind Prince Charles Park. Navakamocea said plans are underway for a new fire station in Savusavu. He adds that the recent opening of the new Sigatoka Fire Station is a boost to the township of Sigatoka which is growing rapidly.
