Good News for over 18,000 sugarcane farmers around the country who will now be able to prepare well for this year’s Diwali as they are expected to receive their final cane payment for 2007 this Friday.
The Sugar Industry Tribunal has announced that farmers will receive cane payment as $1.61 per ton.
Meanwhile, Sugarcane Growers Council, Acting CEO, Sundresh Chetty has welcomed the announcement of the payment and has called on farmers to spend the money wisely.
