Fiji athletics rep Niko Verekauta will have a good build up before he competes in the Olympics next month.

Verekauta last night competed in the Meeting International de Liege in Belgium, where he finished seventh in the men's 400 meters event with a time of 46.91 seconds.

The former Suva Grammar School sprinter will now head to Hong Kong with his coach Marlon Gevart for further preparation before heading to Beijing.

Speaking to Fijivillage, Verekauta said he wants to be the best Fiji representative in the Olympics.
