The Gonei Taukei rally is now in jeopardy as organizers have been informed they would have to follow procedures and apply for a permit.
Organizers, Young Peoples Concerned Network and Provincial Youth Council of Fiji Spokesperson, Peter Waqavonovono said he received a phone call from Director Operations Waisea Tabakau informing him of the requirements and said their lawyers are now looking into the matter.

Meanwhile, Waqavonovono said the huge response they received in such notice is another reason they have decided to relook at the dates of the rally.
According to him over 600 youths have confirmed their attendance and taking into account the village hall can only sit 400, they will also be relooking at their venue.
Police had yesterday confirmed the organizers of the rally need to have a permit.
