Nadroga’s rugby Player of the Year Savenaca Rawaqa scored three tries as his Daveta side thumped Sigatoka River Safari Warriors 33-0 in the first match of the Bayleys Fiji Coral Coast 7s today.

Rawaqa broke tackles and set up play as he is one of the many players trying to please Digicel Fiji 7s coach Ben Ryan for a spot in the national team.

Daveta has the services of Nadroga players Apisai Domolailai, Manoa Tamaya and Nemani Raiwalui.

In another match, the experienced Tokatoka Babas side with Pio Tuwai, Jiuta Takubu, Senivalati Ramuwai and Filipo Nakosi lost to Yamacia 17-10.

Nadi lock forward Semi Kunatani stood out for Yamacia and he is one of the national 7s squad members featuring for their respective clubs.

Meanwhile, more than 100 people gathered in Sigatoka town this morning to meet and honor two 7s legends.

During the Sigatoka Walk of Fame for the Bayleys Fiji Coral Coast 7s, Ben Gollings and Viliame Satala were honored with plaques unveiled in the town.

Satala said he is very proud to be honored.
