About 145 golfers have agreed to participate in a tournament to raise funds for victims of the recent tsunami which hit Samoa and Tonga.

Fiji Golf Club President's Pasifika golf tournament aims to raise at least $10,000 on Saturday from the 18-hole event - plus beer sale on the course and at the 19th hole, raffles and auctions after the competition.

FGC president and tournament organiser Jope Tuivanuavou says the overwhelming response from players and sponsors reflects the willingness of people to help their friends and neighbours who have been hit by a natural disaster.

The 1-day tournament will be held at the Fiji Golf Club on Saturday.
