The Lands and Mineral Resources Ministry has confirmed that operations at the Vatukoula Gold mines are normal without any hiccups.
Permanant Secretary, Dr. Rohit Kishore said Westech Mining sold 100% shares to River Diamonds few months ago and work at the mines is running smoothly.
Kishore said recruitment process for miners is still underway.
Yesterday, Fijivillage highlighted that people who are without jobs in Vatukoula are unable to feed their family and are finding difficulties in sending their children to school.
Save the Children Fiji officials will be in Vatukoula on Monday to finalize the agreements with the schools so that they could disburse the money for the five week bus fare and lunch expense program.
