This is after defense lawyer Abhay Singh asked the court for time to go over the court records as he had not received certain exhibits showing the phone calls made by his client Jo Silatolu to George Speight just hours before the 2000 takeover.
The same was voiced by both the state council and defense lawyer Vilimone Vosarogo.
However, the special tribunal made up of Justice Mason, Justice Handley and Justice Weinberg told Singh that time could not be turned back and advised them to refer to their records.
Abhay Singh is challenging the competence of the final decision, questioning the credibility of the witnesses that came forward as they are accomplices in the takeover and also their accounts of events are not the same.
Singh said they are also questioning the influence of Interim Prime Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama in the case as he was also the Army Commander at that time and whose influence may affect the final decision of the Court.
