This is a serious problem that needs to be addressed by all relevant stakeholders. These are the comments of Fiji Teachers Union General Secretary Agni Deo Singh in light of a 15-year-old boy from Vatuwaqa being taken to the CWM hospital by the police after he was found unconscious on the road side as a result of glue sniffing over the weekend.
Singh believes stricter control must be placed on the sale of such substances.
Reflecting similar sentiments, FTA General Secretary Maika Namudu earlier said the challenge now is on the parents to always know where their children are when they are not at their homes, since most of these glue sniffing cases have arisen because of peer group pressure.
