A 15-year-old student of Vatuwaqa was taken to the Colonial War Memorial Hospital last night after he was found unconscious along the main road by police officers.

Upon investigation, police managed to establish that he had been sniffing glue.

Police are also looking for some other youths who were also sniffing glue with the student.

Police media liaison officer Atunaisa Sokomuri has also revealed that police are cracking down on all those students who are sniffing glue. He said mostly students from the primary and secondary schools are being brought to police stations in school uniform after they are arrested.

He said there has been a sudden rise in the number of students arrested for glue sniffing.
