Digicel Fiji 7s Coach Iliesa Tanivula has brought back glory from Hong Kong, a first since 1999, and the Namotomoto native has proved critics wrong as a lot of people had branded Fiji, the quarterfinal specialists.
Speaking after the win in Hong Kong last night Tanivula said the win is definitely cause for celebration after problems faced.
Tanivula added that the plan was to pile on the points early.
Tanivula's new crop of talent reversed the World Cup quarter final result against Kenya in their semi final, putting in an outstanding performance to win 24-7 and to reach our first Cup final of the season.
Fiji won a grueling final 26-24 to clinch a famous victory against South Africa and bagged in 30 points.
Despite the loss, South Africa still leads on 84 points from England on 68. Fiji is now in third position on 62 with New Zealand in fourth position on 60 points.
