Today is Global Hand Washing Day.
This campaign is coordinated by UNICEF Pacific and Live and Learn Environmental Education with the theme "Your Health Is In Your Hands.”
The Global Hand Washing Day Campaign will be the centerpiece of activities in ten schools in the Nadroga Navosa Province that will mobilize people to wash their hands with soap.
UNICEF have given five main facts you should know about hand washing with soap, they are, washing hands alone with water is not enough, hand washing with soap can prevent diseases that kill millions of children every year, the critical moments for hand washing with soap and water are after using the toilet or cleaning a child and before handling the food, hand washing with soap is the single most cost effective health intervention and children can be agents of change.
