All Blacks and Crusaders fullback Israel Dagg has urged New Zealand fans to stop jeering Quade Cooper when he plays in the country.

The Australian playmaker was jeered throughout the Crusaders’ playoff clash with the Reds in Christchurch as the fans showed he is still
Public Enemy No.1’ due to his long-standing battle with All Black captain Richie McCaw that began in 2011.

However, Dagg has called for fans to put any ill-feelings they may feel towards Cooper behind them and not show negativity at the stadiums.

He tweeted “great win by the boys but please give Quade Cooper a break!! Disappointed by the boos.”

Cooper had little impact on the match as his side struggled to find any momentum in the face of a rampant Crusaders outfit.

At 7.35pm on Saturday the Chiefs host the Crusaders in the first semifinal while the Bulls host the Brumbies at 3am Sunday in the second semifinal.
