National Farmers Union is calling on Fiji Sugar Corporation to give an advance cane payment to the farmers who were severely affected by the flooding.
Secretary Surendra Lal farmers in Lautoka, Ba and Nadi were badly affected most of their crops were destroyed which was their only source of income.
He adds that the special cane payment will assist them with their children's need as school opens next week.
