Get rid of greedy, selfish people-PM
Commodore Bainimarama while officially opening the two day Kadavu Provincial Council meeting this morning at Studio Six hotel in Suva stressed that since coming into power in 2006, they want to cut down the unnecessary wastage of funds and that is why they had set up FICAC to weed people out who have other agenda's then to serve the public.
Bainimarama highlighted the recent events where the Fiji National Provident Fund had to write off $327 million worth of its assets, and he assured the chiefs that those responsible will be taken to task, as a lot of trust was placed on those responsible at the time to safeguard members funds which they failed to do.
Bainimarama also pointed out that he has instructed the Native Land Trust Board to move away from business ventures, especially after more than $3 million was lost after a failed business partnership with Ballu Khan.
The meeting continues in Suva.
