It is time that every civil servant in the country get out of their comfort zone and serve the public.
That is the message from the Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama to the civil servants this morning during his visit to the Public Service Commission headquarters this afternoon.
Commodore Bainimarama said following his tour of the Western Division he has noted that service delivery is an issue that needs to be dealt with immediately.
He also told the civil servants that they should never say no to any member of the public.
The civil servants were also reminded that they were to service the public and that they should not turn people away but come down to the grass root level to better understand what is required of them as public servants.
Bainimarama highlighted the fact that since taking office, he has heard of reports where service in the rural areas is picking up and this should be the norm right around the country.
