Germany to face Sweden in Women’s football final

Germany will play Sweden in the gold medal final of the women’s football competition at the Rio Olympics.

Sweden beat host Brazil in the semifinal on penalties by 4‑3.

Germany beat Canada 2-0 in the second semi-final.

Meanwhile, the Olympic Men’s Football Medal semifinals will be held tomorrow morning.

Host Brazil who are looking to win their first ever football Olympic Gold Medal will play Honduras at 4am. 

In the other semifinal, Germany will face Nigeria at 7am. 

In Men’s High Jump:

Derek Drouin from Canada won the gold medal with a jump of 2.38 meters, Mutaz Barshim from Qatar settled for silver while Ukraine took the bronze.

Looking at the medal tally, USA is in first place with 28 gold, 28 silver and 28 bronze, Great Britain is in second place with 19 gold, 19 silver and 12 bronze while China remain in third place with 17 gold, 15 silver and 19 bronze.
