Celebrations are in order for Germany after they beat Uruguay 3-2 to become the third ranked country in the 2010 FIFA World Cup this morning.

Paul the Octopus determined Germany would win their match against Uruguay.

A Sami Khedira header settled a game which also saw Thomas Muller and Marcell Jansen both bagging goals for Germany while Edison Cavani and Diego Forlan shot in Uruguay's goals.

Germany have not lost a game at this World Cup when holding a lead in the match, as they took the 17th minute of play when Bastian Schwinesteiger took a shot which saw Thomas Muller tapping in the rebound.

This is the second time that Germany has beaten Uruguay in the third place play-off, the first being in 1970 where Germany beat Uruguay 1-nil.
