Germany soccer team captain Philipp Lahm has tried to step up the pressure on quarterfinal opponents Argentina by accusing them of being bad losers.

He said they know South Americans are impulsive and temperamental and cannot lose.

Lahm said they will see on Sunday how Argentina will lose and how they will behave after a defeat.

His comments came a day after teammate Bastian Sweinsteiger warned that Germany must not be provoked by Argentina during the match.

Midfielder Sweinsteiger claimed Argentina's players set out to unsettle opposing teams and influence match officials.

Sweinsteiger and Lahm were part of the German squad when they beat Argentina 4-2 on penalties at the same stage of the last FIFA World Cup after extratime ended with the sides level at 1-1.

That victory was marred by ugly scenes after the match, when players and coaches from both teams clashed on the pitch.

Looking at the FIFA World Cup quarterfinals, Brazil will play Netherlands tomorrow morning at 2am and at 6.30am Uruguay will take on Ghana.

Argentina will play Germany at 2am on Sunday morning and at 6.30am Paraguay will face Spain.
