The Fiji College of General Practitioners has cautioned parents of 9 to 12 year old girls to wait for Gardasil's post marketing surveillance period to be over before deciding whether their daughters should be vaccinated.
Although the Health Ministry said the clinical tests for the vaccine is over, College of General Practitioners President Doctor Wahid Khan said Gardasil is on a trial period until next year.
Doctor Khan said members of the Fiji College of General Practitioners are also analyzing why the drug company Merck has decided to donate US$13.9 million worth of the vaccine to Fiji.
