A General Election in the country is the only answer to the high inflation rate affecting the average workers the most.
These are the words of the General Secretary of the Fiji Islands Council of Trade Unions Attar Singh who believes the inflation rate has gone up after the 2006 coup and only the interim government can come up with a solution to this problem.
Meanwhile, the General Secretary for Fiji Teachers Union said the Union has lodged a COLA claim of 8 percent with the Public Service Commission and in view of the inflation rate, the claim is justified.
Agni Deo Singh said people are suffering due to the high inflation rate.
The PSC is expected to comment later.
