Hosea Gear is in no hurry to hand over the Highlanders captaincy role when Andrew Hore returns from suspension in week three of Super Rugby.
Gear has led the Highlanders through its 3 pre-season games while Hore sits out the ban he incurred during the All Blacks' end-of-season tour.
Hore will also miss the season opener against the Chiefs on Friday and with the Highlanders having a bye in the third round, he won't be available until the Cheetahs game on March 9th.
The Highlanders will take on Defending Super Rugby Champions the Chiefs at 6.35pm this Friday and at 8.40 the Rebels meet the Brumbies.
On Saturday at 5.10am the Bulls host the Stormers, at 6.35pm, the Hurricanes play the Blues while at 8.40pm the Reds take on the Waratahs.
