The price of cooking gas and auto gas increases with immediate effect as the impact of the devaluation of the Fiji dollar sinks in.

Both Fiji Gas Limited and Blue Gas have confirmed that the new prices are now in force following a review of their landing costs.

A 13KG bottle of cooking gas will now cost $41.50 from $39.50.

LPG vehicle owners will also have to dig deeper to fill up from today.

One liter of LPG gas now costs $1.61 which is an increase from the previous price of $1.44.

Meanwhile, the Prices and Incomes Board (PIB) stressed that LPG gas is not under price control and wholesalers are entitled to increase their charges based on the increased landing costs for gas.
