Certain garment factory operators and security companies are under investigation by the Labour Ministry for allegedly breaching the new wages order.
Permanent Secretary for Labour Taito Waqa confirmed that complaints have been received from workers that they are not being paid the increased rates.
Waqa also revealed that there are discussions to set up a panel of accountants to investigate these companies and verify if they are not able to pay new wages.
