The Interim Defense Minister Ratu Epeli Ganilau will present a paper in Cabinet this morning to seek approval of more police vehicles in the rural areas.
Ganilau who visited a number of Police Stations in Viti Levu and Vanua Levu last week has revealed that the Northern Division alone needs 70 police vehicles.
He has also hinted that some four-wheel vehicles used in the Suva area and Police Headquarters will now be diverted to rural areas.
Police Commissioner, Commodore Esala Teleni is expected to comment later today.
