The Great Council of Chiefs Taskforce has raised concern about the health of His Excellency - the President, the Tui Vuda Ratu Josefa Iloilo.
Chairman GCC Taskforce, Ratu Josateki Nawalowalo wished to reiterate their stand to the chiefs and provincial councils is for the GCC to reconvene as soon as possible.
Nawalowalo said despite negative comments from political commentators, one of the institutional role is of course the appointment of the two top positions in the high office of the President and Vice President of the Republic of Fiji.
Nawalowalo said the GCC should sit and first appoint a Vice President to assist the Turaga na Tui Vuda on all matters with regards to the good governance of the indigenous people, their welfare, needs and aspirations.
Meanwhile the Taskforce Team is happy to have been able to present its mandate to six provinces so far namely Naitasiri, Serua, Rewa, Ba, Ra and Namosi.
