The Rewa provincial council has revealed that the GCC Taskforce led by the chairman, Ratu Josateki Nawalowalo has gone over-board by urging the chiefs from the 14 provinces to appoint the three names to represent them in the Great Council meeting in August.
Deputy Chairman, Pita Tagicakiverata said Nawalowalo and his team should stick to their role under their terms of reference by disseminating information on the new criteria to the GCC Regulations Promulgation.
Tagicakiverata said Rewa maintains its stance and that is that they do not support the new GCC Regulations and the Peoples Charter.
Ratu Nawalowalo had earlier mentioned that the chiefs should put aside differences and hand in the names of the three chiefs to represent them at the August meeting.
