GCC members cannot have an official meeting-Ratu Epeli Ganilau
Following the announcement by lawyer, Savenaca Komaisavai that the members are planning a GCC meeting in Bau sometime next week, Ratu Epeli said the meeting will definitely not be recognised as a GCC meet.
The interim cabinet has decided to revoke the earlier decision to sack the Great Council of Chief members and suspension of all GCC meetings. This means that the sacked GCC members have regained their membership.
Ratu Epeli confirmed earlier today that the decision was reached after the Fijian Affairs Ministry decided to conduct further reviews and speak to the chiefs about the make up of the council.
Meanwhile lawyer Savenaca Komaisavai said they have been invited by Bau Chief, Ratu Apenisa Cakobau to have their meeting on his island if they do not have a venue in Suva.
Komaisavai added that the agenda for the meeting is being prepared.
