The Great Council of Chiefs and the Methodist Church of Fiji have failed in their duties to create an understanding on why adequate land is needed to assist the landless people.
These are the words of Citizens Constitutional Forum's Chief Executive Officer, Reverend Akuila Yabaki who said that tenants are still being forced to move from the land after their leases expire.
However the NLTB and landowners should try to look at ways to resolve these issues.
Yabaki also said that the responsibility falls on the Government and landowners to make available land at a reasonable amount which can be utilised by those who do not own land.
Meanwhile the Methodist Church of Fiji is to comment later today.
