The Chairman of the Great Council of Chiefs Special Task Force has defended the decision of the former Members to assist them in their task to review the Chiefly body.
Ratu Tu'uakitau Cokanauto said despite criticism leveled against their decision, they believe it was the right thing to do.
Ratu Tu'uakitau is also optimistic that they will be received by the various Chiefly households as they will approach them in their capacities as chiefs.
The Committee meets over the weekend to finalize its plans to start consultations and have one month to complete their task.
Meanwhile, Lawyers representing former GCC members Ratu Ovini Bokini and Ratu Sakiusa Makutu are still putting together legal documents and are expected to file for an injunction sometime next week to stop the work of the Special Task force from proceeding.
