One of Fiji's leading bread makers, which employs over 500 people around the country, will be meeting this morning to decide what their future is following the recent hike in operation costs.

Hot Bread Kitchen manager Mere Samisoni said they are looking at what to do since they have had no reply from the Prices and Incomes Board with regards to their request for an increase in bread prices.

Samisoni said the implementation of the wage increase along with the devaluation of the Fiji dollar in April sees the company running at a loss.

Samisoni also revealed that they will be petitioning the PIB again as they have received word from their various branches that the owners of their buildings have requested a 10% increase in rent.

The submission had been made to the PIB earlier this year, however, PIB revealed they are still looking at the submission.
