The future of minibus operators is in dilemma following an increase in fuel prices as announced yesterday by the Prices and Incomes Board.
Viti Minibuses Co-operation officer Kaveni Delai said the company will feel the brunt of the increase as customers will opt to go for cheaper means of transportation.
And the Fiji Taxi Union will be having a meeting this weekend to discuss about its next course of action in view of the fuel price hike. Union General Secretary Rishi Ram said there is an urgent need to do something otherwise the taxi industry will collapse.
The Assistant Secretary of Fiji Bus Operators Association, Viren Kewal said they would also be having a meeting in Suva tomorrow morning to discuss the issue.
