The Suva/Lami Special Administrator Marica Hallacy said she still cannot make any comments on the future of the 15 workers of the Suva City Council who were asked to go home on Friday.

Hallacy said she may say something when the time is right.

The 15 SCC workers are still in the dark about their jobs, after they were sent home pending investigations.

A reliable source told Fijivillage that while he was out in the field on Friday he was summoned back to the office at 12.30pm and told to wait in their conference room where a few other SCC officials were also waiting.

He revealed that shortly afterwards they were read out a letter which said that they were being sent home and were under investigation for blogging against the government, following which all their PC's were taken away.

The source revealed that those who hold senior positions with the SCC have been sent home and these include the Director Engineering, City Planner, Solicitor and officials from the Health, Finance, Parking Meter and Business License Section.

According to the source a meeting is expected to be held today and is hoping something will be resolved as they are not sure of what is in store for them and whether they will be paid for the time they have been sent home.
