Further leaks detected along the main water pipe line from the Nagado treatment plant to Vaturu dam, has seen the rationing of water to residents in Lautoka and Nadi and extended for another day.
Water Department Spokesperson Maika Nagalu said that the water rationing was supposed to end last weekend however, this has been further extended.
Water is expected to normalize by midnight tomorrow.
Meanwhile, residents in the upper Lami, Delainavesi and Veisari areas are being advised, that while their water supply has started this morning, they are being advised that supply will be low, due to the low levels at the Tamavua reservoir.
According to Nagalu they are currently pumping water into the reservoir after levels dropped following repair works at the Savura pumping station, which had developed mechanical problems.
