The Ministry of National Planning, Trade and Investment have funds available to carry out various assessments where they give exporters a bit of leg-up to be able to place themselves in the export market.

This is the sentiment made by the Minister for Public Enterprises, Industries, Trade and Communications Aiyaz Sayed Khaiyum to participants at the Export Awareness Seminar yesterday.

Sayed Khaiyum said the Buy in Fiji and Made in Fiji initiative, which they put in place, there are various rules in the SPARTECA in terms of determining what a Fijian product is.

Sayed Khaiyum added, however what they are focusing on from the seminar is to try and get authentic Fijian products, and also try to promote Fijian products abroad.

The Minister said whilst talking about Fiji made products, Fiji also has enormous potential to be able to go into areas where perhaps others have not, such as areas of organic farming and organic products.

Similar awareness seminar organized by the Fiji Islands and Investment Bureau will also be held in the West and North this week.
