A 15 year old girl's dream to set up a resource centre for the support of children with cancer and their families will get a boost with fundraising walk in Suva tomorrow.
The walk is to commemorate the death of 15 year old Tae Kami whose ordeal was followed by people in many countries who read her moving account of her fight with the disease on her personal website, and her song "Walk On, Walk Strong" has become an anthem for supporters of the Tae Kami Foundations in Fiji and Tonga, established to provide support for young cancer patients.
Tae's father Taholo Kami said he is overwhelmed by how his daughter=s ordeal has inspired so many people, adding that she always was in high spirits despite going through a traumatic experience.
The walk, starting at 8am tomorrow morning is from Albert Park and will follow a route along Queen Elizabeth Drive and return.
Proceeds are to be used for a centre in Suva for child cancer patients.
