A strong wind warning remains in force for the western and south-western part of the country as Tropical Cyclone Funa moves further away from land areas of the country.

The Nadi Weather Office said the cyclone was located 495km South-South-West of Nadi at 3pm today and moving South-South-East at 20km/h further away from Fiji.

For Yasawa and Mamanuca groups, western and south-western Viti Levu, Kadavu, Vatulele, Beqa and nearby smaller islands, expect strong north to north-west winds gusting up to 75km/h gradually decreasing tonight.

Occasional rain heavy at times with flooding of some low-lying areas also expected.
