Tropical Cyclone Funa has intensified into a category three cyclone and is expected to bring strong winds and heavy rain for the western and southern parts of the country from tonight.

Tropical Cyclone Funa currently lies 525 kilometers west of Nadi at 3pm today and is moving southeast at around 23 kilometers per hour.

Nadi Weather Office Director Rajendra Prasad said Tropical Cyclone Funa is expected to pass close to Conway Reef located some 400 kilometers south-west of Suva by tomorrow morning and will cause extremely high seas.
