As interim Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Commodore Frank Bainimarama delivers the 2009 National Budget later this morning, the Public Service Commission has made it clear that it will be tough for the interim government to fulfill the Confederation of Public Sector Unions' demands under the current policies.
Chairman Rishi Ram said while there can be some negotiations on the demands, fulfilling them is another question.
Ram said it will be pre-mature for him to comment on the Unions stance that an Industrial action may be looming if their demands are not met.
The Confederation of Public Sector Unions confirmed earlier that another industrial action will be imminent, if appropriate allocations are not made in the upcoming National budget to pay civil servants 8 percent COLA, and the $20 million to backdate their pay restoration.
