Fuel prices to increase from today
As stakeholders in the transport industry are keeping their fingers crossed for some relief from the state, Manu Korovulavula confirmed that he will make a statement on the matter later today.
Korovulavula said the increasing prices are a national issue and the relevant stakeholders must be informed first.
As of today, Motor Spirit will cost $2.05 per litre, an increase of 14 cents, Premix Outboard Fuel will now cost $2.03 per litre which used to cost $1.89 cents. There is also an increase in Diesel prices which goes up by 13c and will now cost $1.78 per litre while people will also have to fork out more money for Kerosene which sees a massive increase of 19c from $1.38 to $1.57 per litre.
Meanwhile, Fiji Taxi Union General Secretary Rishi Ram has suggested ways in which the industry could be assisted by the state.
