It is up again so get ready to dig deeper into your pockets as fuel prices increase again from tomorrow.

The Prices and Incomes Board said unleaded fuel will now cost $2.12 a litre, an increase of 12 cents while diesel will now cost $1.76 a litre, an increase of 9 cents from $1.67.

Kerosene prices will also increase by 7 cents to a $1.42 while premix outboard fuel will now cost $2.04, an increase of 13 cents.

The PIB said this is all due to the increase in crude oil prices as a result of strong demand growth and tightened crude supply around the world.

Traders and consumers are advised that these prices will differ in areas due to additional cartage and delivery charges.

Meanwhile, the Consumer Council of Fiji is concerned that some services stations charge people new fuel prices before it comes into effect.

CEO Premila Kumar said this act is quite annoying and takes place due to the laxity in the system.

She said after the fuel price increase in July, a service station increased the price hours before midnight when the new price was actually supposed to kick in.

Kumar said this issue has not been seriously dealt with by the Prices and Incomes Board or the Fair Trade Department.
