Good news as major reductions for fuel and gas prices have been announced.

The price of kerosene will go down by 10 cents a litre to $1.76.

There will be 8 cents per litre reduction for diesel with the new price at $2.21 a litre.

Unleaded will go down by 9 cents to $2.49 a litre while premix fuel will go down by 9 cents to $2.45 a litre.

For gas, the price of a 12kg cylinder has been reduced by 5% and the new price is $43.44.

The new price for Autogas is also down by 5% from $2.16 to $2.05.

The huge reductions are due to the reduction in world prices of crude oil and gas.

The prices are effective from Monday.

Attorney General and Minister of Industry and Trade, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum welcomes these reductions as very good news for ordinary Fijians.

He said this is why it is so important that the Commerce Commission constantly and diligently monitors international prices, so that savings can be passed along to Fijians as quickly as possible.

Members of the public also welcome the announcement.
