It could be due to the rise in world fuel prices however in the eyes of the court it is still theft.

3 men, Nasonia Navuikaba, Kamueli Wasavu and Isoa Damudamu, were today sentenced to 5 months in prison for stealing a total of 120 litres of fuel costing 231 dollars.

The court heard that on June 4th this year, the three stole the fuel from Topline Investment Company and were caught red handed by police.

The three, who all had previous convictions, pleaded guilty to the charge of larceny and were sentenced by Magistrate Amani Rokotuinaviti to 5 months jail time.
