The French rugby team has sent Ireland's high hopes of World Cup quarterfinal qualification into freefall this morning, beating the Irish 25-3 and leaving them needing a huge win over Argentina to qualify.

The Irish, once again offered very little in the way of cohesive attack and any efforts foundered on a magnificent French defense.

The penalty count mounted against the men in green throughout the game, allowing the host two cross over for two tries.

France led 12 points to 3 at halftime and scored both of their tries in the second half.

Meanwhile, the FMF Flying Fijian 15s rugby coach Ilivasi Tabua has made 11 changes to his string lineup from the side that beat Canada 29-16 on Monday morning.

Tabua has rested the likes of Nicky Little, Kele Leawere, Akapusi Qera, Sunia Koto, Graham Dewes and Semisi Naevo while Jone Railomo, Sisa Koyamaibole and Seru Rabeni will start from the bench.

Speaking to Village Sports this morning, Tabua said that while he has made a lot of changes to the lineup, one has to understand that it still remains a strong side as most of the players named have come in as reserve players in the last two pool games.
