Freezer boy sentenced for stabbing
According to Police Prosecutor Sergeant Harish Chand told the court that on 4th of this month the 29 year old Laite Tairewa, a sales girl went to another house to question a Fijian girl about having affair with her husband.
The accused Waisake Drinavai who was at home heard about it and ran out and saw Tairewa holding his partner.
Drinavai who was holding a kitchen knife stabbed Tairewa on her neck causing a deep gash and while she was running away he stabbed her again.
While delivering the sentence Magistrate Aruna Prasad told Drinivai that this was a serious offence and could have been very fatal had the knife entered the throat.
She also said that it was more aggravating, when the accused stabbed her once and then chased her and stabbed again.
