Local males suffering from the sickness called hydrocele [enlargement of male scrotum] can get free treatment through the combined effort of the Health Ministry and World Health Organisation from next week.
The surgical team will be made of experienced surgeons and anesthetists who will be in Rakiraki from Monday for about two weeks, before moving to Nadi and will be in the Central and Northern divisions between October and November.
According to the Health Ministry, most people have been suffering in silence and a number of them are now confined at home or feel ashamed to go out and as a result they do not receive the care they need and about 270 cases have been found.
