People in the Western Division and outer islands will have free screening and medical tests done from next week as a team of Medical experts are arriving into the country from USA, New Zealand and Australia.
A general practitioner from USA already in the country Dr Animesh Sinha said many people in Fiji do not go to the doctors for normal checkups.
Meanwhile, Dr Sinha said Non-Communicable Diseases in Fiji are very high and people need to be made aware that it starts from the way they live their lives.
He said there is a need for people to be taught about these lifestyle diseases which consists of High Blood Pressure, Diabetes, Cancer, Stroke and many other diseases as 82% of deaths in the country are NCD related.
The Medical Team will start its screening process in Nadi from next Friday.
